About ShareLeftovers

ShareLeftovers is a free community platform that connects people with surplus food to volunteers who deliver it to shelters, food banks, and community organizations. We charge no fees to donors or volunteers.

User Responsibilities

Donors: You are responsible for ensuring donated food is safe for consumption and accurately described. Do not post expired, contaminated, or unsafe food.

Volunteers: You are responsible for timely pickup and safe transport of food. Handle all food with care and deliver it to the designated location promptly.

Food Safety

ShareLeftovers is a coordination platform. We do not inspect, prepare, or handle food. Donors and volunteers are responsible for food safety during their respective handling. We encourage following local health department guidelines for food donation.

Good Samaritan Protection

In the United States, the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act provides liability protection to good-faith food donors. We encourage all participants to familiarize themselves with applicable laws in their jurisdiction.

Prohibited Activities

Do not use ShareLeftovers to sell food, solicit money, post non-food items, harass other users, or engage in any illegal activity. Accounts violating these terms will be suspended.

Disclaimer

ShareLeftovers is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for the quality, safety, or delivery of donated food. We are a technology platform facilitating connections between willing donors and volunteers.

Donations to ShareLeftovers

Financial donations to support platform operations are voluntary and non-refundable. 100% of donations go toward hosting, maintenance, and development of this free platform.
